I am researching creative solutions for increasing access to healthcare at the intersection of computer science and biology.
I am advised by Dr. Shwetak Patel in the Ubiquitous Computing Lab in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering. You might also be able to find me in the Molecular Information Systems Lab (MISL) or the Synthetic Biology Lab.
I previously worked in hardware development at Microsoft, and I am passionate about youth education. Please reach out if you share these interests or want to learn more!
PhD in Computer Science, 2025 (expected)
University of Washington
BS in Biomedical Engineering, 2014
University of Southern California
What I’m working on
Investigating new ways to detect viral presence in urban infrastructure.
Investigating the use of a smartphone camera for oximetry in clinical settings for a couple different health applications.
By integrating minimal, low-cost electronics with commercially available blood glucose testing strips, the GlucoScreen prototype introduces a new type of low-cost, battery-free glucose testing tool that works with any smartphone, obviating the need to purchase a separate dedicated reader.
